Health Manager UK Downstream, Mediterranean & STASCO
Dr Syed Ahmed is Health Manager for UK, Mediterranean and Shipping at Shell, and has previously worked for Shell overseas in Kazakhstan for many years supporting a Caspian Sea oil and gas project.
He has been involved in the development Shell’s Maritime mental health strategy and their support to the Maritime industry. By background is a UK accredited specialist in Occupational Medicine and has a special interest in Mental Health and resilience optimization.

Capt Jim Cashman
HFW - Master Mariner and Maritime Lawyer
More than being a Master Mariner and Maritime lawyer, Jim deals with all aspects of shipping litigation, including both P&I and FD&D issues, marine insurance and coverage disputes and other shipping-related commercial disputes.
He is a casualty specialist, dealing particularly with collisions, groundings, fire and explosions and the subsequent contractual disputes that arise from these incidents.
Jim has strong industry connections in Greece, Germany and Scandinavia.
Jim is qualified in England and Wales.

Kishore Rajvanshy
Managing Director of Fleet Management Limited
Mr Kishore Rajvanshy is the founding Managing Director of Fleet Management Limited, a Caravel Group Company.
Mr Rajvanshy is an engineer by background with a degree in mechanical engineering from BITS Pilani, a prominent university in India. He began his career at the Shipping Corporation of India – the country’s state shipping company, where he spent the first year of training in Mumbai. He spent most of his time at sea between 1971 and 1978. In his last three years at sea, he sailed as chief engineer.
In 1978, Mr Rajvanshy came ashore as he progressed toward the post of superintendent.
In 1979, he embarked upon a 15-year career with a prominent Hong Kong-based ship management company. Starting as a superintendent, he was soon promoted to technical manager, then technical director and finally – for the last eight years with the firm – he was Director and General Manager.
In November 1994, Mr Rajvanshy joined Noble Group to establish Fleet Management Limited, which was subsequently acquired by The Caravel Group.
In 2019, Mr Rajvanshy was awarded a “Lifetime Achievement Award” by Sea trade Asia. In 2017, Mr Rajvanshy was awarded a “Lifetime Achievement Award” by Lloyd’s List in Singapore as well as Tanker Shipping and Trade in London. In 2018, Mr Rajvanshy was elected as Vice Chairman of the Board of the West of England P&I Club, where he has been a Director since 2007. Furthermore, Mr Rajvanshy sits on the Technical and Regional Committees of all major classification societies.

Capt. Anwar Buftain
Team Leader – Fleet Personnel

Capt Anwar Buftain is a Master Mariner with 24 Yrs of experience in the shipping industry. He graduated from South Tyneside College (Marine College) in The United Kingdom and is also an IRCA Certified Lead Auditor ISO standards 9001, 14001, 18001, 9001:2014 and ISM. He joined KOTC as a Deck Cadet and rose to the rank of Master on board.
In his current role, he leads the team of Fleet Personnel for manning KOTC Fleet Vessels. Prior to resuming the leading role in Fleet Personnel, he was a member of the team for re-writing the Integrated Management System – QMHSSE Group covering KOTC’s HSE Management System.
He then spent 6 years with Fleet New Building and was a part of the team that built 8VLCC’s, 3 Aframax, 4 MR Tankers and 2 Crew Boats.

Experienced maritime professional with a demonstrated history of working in the government administration and private sector. Skilled in Navigation, Operations Management and maritime trade . Strong professional with a PG education focused in Shipping and Logistics from University of Middlesex.

Is Experienced Director with a demonstrated history of working in the global Christian charity and sports industry.
HIV/Aids, sexual heath, mission, advocacy around poverty reduction and justice. Skilled in Nonprofit Organizations, Pastoral Counseling, Fundraising, Preaching, and Youth Mentoring. Strong community and social services professional with a Master of Arts (M.A.) in Theology, Social Work and Sport & Pastoral Care.

Casper Melan
CEO Marine Benefits
Masters at Law from the university of Bergen, Casper Meland is a Maritime lawyer by profession and is the CEO of marine benefits. Casper would present some interesting statistics on Mental wellbeing of the seafarers.
